Helga was opening a new hairdressing salon in Southwold. Recognising the importance of a strong name and brand identity in the competitive salon industry, Helga partnered with us to develop a comprehensive branding strategy for her new venture.

Discovery Phase:

Our collaboration with Helga began with in-depth discussions about her vision, preferences, and aspirations for her salon. We delved into her personal style, product choices, and interior design preferences, all of which would shape her identity. Inspired by the Aveda lifestyle salon concept, we sought to create a brand that reflected Helga’s values and resonated with her target audience.

Brand Strategy:

After exploring several concept ideas, Helga immediately gravitated towards the name “Serin” for her salon. The Serin bird, native to East Anglia, became the perfect emblem for the business, symbolising brightness, character, and intrepidness. Drawing inspiration from the natural beauty of the bird, we developed a visual identity that captured the essence of Serin’s brand philosophy.

Visual Identity:

The visual identity of Serin was crafted to evoke a sense of harmony and authenticity, reflecting the salon’s commitment to organic and natural beauty. We opted for a graphic style illustration of the Serin bird, infusing it with vibrant colours and playful elements to convey the salon’s vibrant atmosphere. We created a comprehensive brand book, outlining the salon’s look and feel, creative direction, and tone of voice.

Brand Implementation:

With the brand identity in place, we collaborated with Helga to translate it across various touch points, including printed and online collateral. From business cards to social media graphics, each element was carefully designed to reflect Serin’s brand ethos and create a cohesive brand experience for clients. 

Photography:

Photography played a crucial role in showcasing the salon’s atmosphere, with a photoshoot capturing the natural beauty of Serin’s haircuts against the backdrop of Southwold Beach.

Results:

Since its launch, Serin has received overwhelmingly positive feedback from clients and the community, who appreciate the salon’s inviting ambience and personalised service. The cohesive branding has helped Serin stand out in the competitive salon landscape, attracting new clients and fostering loyalty among existing ones. Helga’s dedication to delivering exceptional experiences has cemented Serin’s reputation as a go-to destination for quality haircare in Southwold.
