HERD Exclusive Networking

STRATEGY | NAMING | BRAND IDENTITY |

Kats Scott approached us to name and create an identity for her new networking community. HERD is all about bringing together professional like-minded individuals to elevate their careers in a supportive and fun environment. Seasonal events begin with inspiring guest speakers, followed by a lunch where attendees can relax, exchange ideas, and build relationships across the table.

The name
The name HERD reflects both the venue and the community ethos. Events are hosted in The Cowshed, so “HERD” reflects this setting while also referencing community and connection. Just as animals in a herd feel safe and secure together, HERD provides a supportive space for individuals to share and grow.

Naming is one of the most crucial aspects of a brand’s identity. The name ‘HERD’ immediately conveys strength, unity, and support—qualities that are central to this community. It’s more than a name—it’s a promise.

Creative Challenge:
Networking can often feel intimidating and impersonal, but HERD’s goal is to change that. Our challenge was to create a visual identity that captured HERD’s relaxed spirit while also reflecting the rural charm of Suffolk.

Creative Approach:
HERD’s identity isn’t just visually compelling, it tells a deeper story about community and connection, grounded in the local culture of Suffolk.

We chose the cowslip (a species of Primula, the Oxlip variant is Suffolk’s county flower). It represents community, growth, and positivity—perfectly aligning with HERD’s mission and rural location. The visual identity is modern and elegant and incorporates the cowslip motif, geometric elements, and a vibrant colour palette.

  • Icon: A modern, geometric cowslip motif symbolises precision and modernity.
  • Graphics: Custom patterns and functional icons add clarity and character to HERD’s communications.
  • Colour Palette: Inspired by the vibrant Suffolk countryside and the bright yellow of the cowslip, our colour scheme evokes positivity and reflects HERD’s values.

I’ve enjoyed the experience of working with WHAT. They have listened to me and I think may have told my story more clearly than I could have done myself. I love the name. The new identity perfectly captures the spirit of HERD. It’s modern, memorable, and aligns with our vision of a supportive and inspiring environment.
