The Greyhound

BRANDING | DESIGN | PHOTOGRAPHY | PHILANTHROPIC INITIATIVES

Since 2015, we’ve partnered with The Greyhound Pub in Ipswich on a long-term project of brand evolution and community impact. The pub sought to distinguish itself in a competitive landscape while deepening its connection to customers and causes that matter.

We introduced Maurice, their charming greyhound mascot, as a flexible brand symbol used across menus, events and celebrations. Alongside the rebrand, we redesigned menus and gift vouchers using sustainable materials, reinforcing The Greyhound’s commitment to quality and environmental responsibility.

Philanthropy has become a defining feature of The Greyhound’s identity. When Landlord Dan Lightfoot requested new match-day staff T-shirts, we proposed a charitable collaboration. We designed and donated a series of organic cotton T-shirts, screen-printed locally with eco-inks, raising funds for the Darby Rimmer MND Foundation in honour of Ipswich Town legend Marcus Stewart.

In another project, we created “We Don’t Wear Yellow” cycling-themed T-shirts to support Prostate Cancer UK and the ITFC Academy, tying together sport and awareness. Sales and auctions raised vital funds for cancer research and youth development.

The Greyhound now stands not only as a destination for food and drink but as a vibrant hub for giving back.

“We worked with WHAT to redesign our brand identity and strategy, that then lead onto a fantastically vibrant set of menus, posters, adverts and now gift vouchers. Their flexibility and creativity has enabled us to have an awful lot of amusement with our imagery and their brilliant photographs of our food and drinks really capture day to day life in a pub. We are really pleased with the end result and will work with them again.”
